A Card Without Stamps - ric#21

This is the card I made without using any stamps. Does it sound like I attend a challenge to make a card without stamps? Actually, this is the card I made for the Runway Inspired Challenge #21 - Richard Chai Love Spring 2013. Here is the inspiration photo:

And here is the card I made for this challenge:

I used the embossing folder to make the letterpress effect for the flower stripe. Mat the flower stripe with yellow cardstock and attach it on the light gray cardstock. Then layer a vellum below the flower stripe and attach a yellow stripe of cardstock on top of the vellum. Die cut "Happy Day" with dark gray cardstock and glue them on the card.

Here is  a closer look of the card:

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up
Vellum: PTI
Ink Pad: Memento
Others: Die (Simon Says Stamps), Embossing Folder (Sizzix)

Happy Wishes - Lawnscaping Challenge #43 (Texture)

I love to create texture on my cards, not only because texture can create dimensional look on the cards, but also texture can make your cards more interesting. When I saw the "texture" challenge from Lawnscaping Challenge, I know I am going to create a card for this challenge. Here is the challenge:

And here is the card I made:

I used the Lunar Lights set to create this card. The technique I applied on this card is to use the double sided tape burnishing it with Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight glitters (a transparent microfine glitter), then stamp the lanterns with black StazOn ink pad on the burnished glitters. After that, I used Copic markers to color the lanterns (the lanterns are super shiny after coloring), then cut out the lanterns and arranged them on the card.

Here is another look of the card:

I finished this card with the "happy wishes" text stamp and the colored pearl stickers (I used the white pearl stickers and colored with Copic markers to match the lanterns).

Except the glittered lanterns and color pearls, the other texture item on this card is the white background paper. It's the acrylic paper with linen finish - purchased from Michaels when they were on sale (40% off).  Here is a closer look of the card to see the texture of the white background linen paper:

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI (gold cardstock), Strathmore (acrylic paper - linen finish)
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Lunar Lights set)
Ink Pads: StazOn (black), Memento (black)
Others: Glitter Ritz Cool Highligh glitters, Be Creative tape sheet, Copic markers, pearl stickers, Sakura Gelly Roll pens

You Rock

This is my first time to attend the Mojo Monday challenge. It looks like a very fun challenge since a lot of people posting their cards for the challenge. Here is the sketch 261 of this week's challenge:

And here is the card I made:

I used the star shaped die and cut a piece of blue felt as the focal point. Then cut a piece of white cardstock and cut the end like the ribbon. Shaded the paper ribbon with blue ink and stamped "You Rock" on it. Attach the felt star, and three wood veneer stars (colored with Copic markers) on the paper ribbon. Assembled everything together and finished it by tie a bow with twine on the stripe of red cardstock.

Here is a closer look of the card:

I also have this same card to attend the Embellish Magazine's Stars Color Trends Challenge. Here is the inspiration photo:

Supplies:
Cardstock: Tim Holtz Core'dinations Distress Colorcore, PTI
Stamps: Paper Smooches
Ink Pads: Distress Ink Pads, Ranger Adirondack Pigment Ink Pad (black)
