A Blog Named Hero January Challenge - One Layer

Here is A Blog Named Hero January Challenge - One Layer. Below is the challenge photo:

I decided to make a one layer card to create a galaxy look. I applied Distress ink pads with mustard seed, picked raspberry, seedless preserves randomly on a piece of white cardstock, then I brushed chipped sapphire around the cardstock. The last step is to brush black soot around the edges and four corners. Below is the look:

Then, I sprinkled the water drops onto the background to make the below look after dry:

I stamped the Chinese word of love in the middle of the card and silver embossed it. This wood stamp is from Hero Arts' Chinese Thanks Wish set. Then, I dipped a brush in the Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint and used my finger to sprinkle the white paint on the galaxy background. I learned this technique from the talented Amy Lee (her blog is The Craft Bunny). Below is the finished card:

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI
Stamps: Hero Arts (E1716)
Ink Pads: Distress ink pads, Versamark
Others: silver embossing powder, Distress paint

Then, I stamped flowers and sentiment with the stamps from Botanicals 1, Crystal Clear, and Luminous Spring sets on the watercolor background in black Versafine ink pad. I also used clear embossing powder to heat embossed the images. Below is the finished card:

Cheering You On

Here is the 3rd card I used Simon Says Stamp's "Cups and Succulents" stamp set to make for Mandy's Facebook January challenge. I also have this card to attend Simon Monday Challenge - Best Friends. Here is Simon Monday Challenge photo:

I decided to use the Brusho crystal colors to sprinkle them on the watercolor paper and spray water to make the background. Below is the finished background:

And below is the finished card:

I used the matching die cuts to cut out the cups and succulents and colored them with Distress ink pads and water brush. I also applied Distress ink on the white wood grain cardstock to make it like the real wood. I attached the plants on the wood paper with foam tapes. Finish the card by stamping "cheering you on" on the background. This card is made for one of my best friend who has something bothered her currently, and I think this card shall be able to cheer her up.

Essentials By Ellen January Mix It Up Challenge

Here is Essentials By Ellen January Mix It Up Challenge - with My Favorite Things. I decided to pick the Essentials by Ellen stamp set of "Bold Blooms" to mix it up with My Favorite Things' background stamp "Roses All Over". Below is the challenge photo:

I stamped the "Roses All Over" background on the black cardstock with Versamark ink pad, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the rose and leaves from "Bold Blooms" set on another piece of black cardstock with Versamark ink pad and embossed with white embossing powder. Then, I colored the rose and leaves with Finetec Mica Metallic Watercolor Paint with different shades of gold and silver. After they dry, I cut out the rose and leaves (see below):

I attached the rose with foam tapes on the lower right corner of the background and also glued down the leaves. I die cut the "celebrate" word die from Tim Holtz with gold glitter paper and attached it on the upper left of the background. Finish the card by mount the background on a white card. Below is the finished card:

A Little Something Just For You

Here is the second card I used Simon Says Stamp's "Cups and Succulents" stamp set to make for Mandy's Facebook January challenge. I also want to attend Word Art Wednesday's Challenge #217 Anything Goes. I love the scripture they picked for this challenge, here it is:
Here is the process to make this card. I used Tim Holtz stencil to make the brick wall with water resist technique. Then, I stamped the cups and succulents on the wall with die ink pads.

I colored the cups and succulents with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol (magic pencil technique). Here is the colored cups and succulents.

I finished the card with the sprinkle of gold watercolor paints on the white card stock and stamped the greetings "a little something just for you".  I made this card as a top folding card on kraft cardstock with green and copper glitter paper as the border on the right hand side. Below is the finished card:

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI, Stampin' Up, glitter paper
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp
Ink Pads: Distress Ink Pads, Archival Ink Pads, Hero Arts Ink Pads

Simon Something New Challenge - From My Heart To Yours

Both Simon Monday and Wednesday's Challenges are "Something New". I have this card to attend both challenges. This card was the first card I made to join Mandy's Facebook challenge group - use the same stamp set and make cards for the whole month of January 2016. I picked the stamp set "Cups and Succulents" from Simon Says Stamp and make the first card for this new Facebook challenge group. Here is the stamp set I picked:

And below is the first card I made for Mandy's Facebook January challenge:

I colored the cup and succulents with Dove Blender pen and pigment ink pads. I also brushed the clear Wink of Stella pen on the blue cup. The cup was cut out by the matching die and attached on the white circle background with foam tapes. The dry embossed hearts background is the embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers.

Below are the challenge photos:

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp
Dies: Simon Says Stamp (cup die), MTF (circle dies)
